Over the past few weeks, we have been testing our new sections, "Biographies-Influential Women", "21st Century Careers" and "Women's Organizations Doing Great Work". (These can now be found on the left-hand-side of our posts).
We've added these sections to enable you, our friends, to understand the yeoman work that women from different countries are doing (or have done), in order to uplift other women and their societies in general.
We also want you to know and appreciate the enormous struggles that a variety of women have had to go through to achieve mastery in their chosen callings/professions. Struggles that are still relevant today.
We are especially concerned about our younger women, globally, who are shying away from careers in science and mathematics, due to the perception that they will never reach CEO positions in these fields.
Our response to this is that a woman can achieve anything she wants to in life, if she puts her mind to it.
Thus we are highlighting career opportunities, in these and other fields that will be relevant for the next 5-15 years...opportunities that our women should never shy away from because of gender or lack of money for college/university.
Some of the organizations we will showcase, do offer scholarships to girls and young women, up to the PhD level. ..and being the forward-thinkers we are, we will be highlighting these and other scholarship opportunities.
Over the next two weeks we will be adding more sections that we feel will be of benefit to you.
Please let us know how you feel about the presence of these sections by commenting below...
If you know of any person or organization that deserves to be in our showcase, please let us know...please give us their names and links and we'll research and add them :).
Thanks in advance...
Gillian
