Jamaica's New Government: Cabinet Members Named!

Shortly before 7:00 p.m. tonight, Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, named his 18-member Cabinet. These members are as follows:

1. Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and Development and Defense - Mr.Bruce Golding
2. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade - Mr. Kenneth Baugh
3. Minister of Finance and the Public Service - Mr. Audley Shaw
4. Minister without (w/o) Portfolio in the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service - Mr. Don Wehby (former 2nd in command at Grace Kennedy and Co. Ltd.- the largest company in Jamaica in terms  of annual revenues)
5. Minister w/o Portfolio in Ministry of Finance and the Public Service -  Mr. Dwight Nelson
6. Minister w/o Portfolio in the Ministry of Planning and Development, in the Office of the Prime Minister - Mr.  James Robertson
7. Minister of National Security - Mr. Derrick Smith
8. Minister of Industry and Commerce - Mr. Karl Samuda
9. Minister of Energy, Mining and Telecommunications - Mr. Clive Mullings
10. Minister of Education - Mr. Andrew Holness
11. Minister of Health and the Environment - Mr. Ruddy Spencer
12. Minister of Transport and Works - Mr. Mike Henry
13. Minister of Labour and Social Security - Mr. Pearnel Charles
14. Attorney General and Minister of Justice - Mrs. Dorothy Lightbourne
15. Minister of Tourism - Mr. Edmond Bartlet
16. Minister of Water and Housing - Mr. Horace Chang
17. Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports - Ms. Babsy Grange
18. Minister of Agriculture - Mr. Christopher Tufton
19. Speaker of House - Mr. Delroy Chuck

These persons will be sworn in at 11:00 a.m on Friday, September 14, 2007
