Happy Valentine's Day, friends!
Yes, all you lovers - old and new, are getting quite cozy...just about now...settling in for a long evening ahead (married lovers only :))!
But how can this feeling that you have at this very moment, last?
By nurturing it...
You need to understand that if the relationship you're in, is what you want you really want, for a lifetime, you've got to act.
You've really got to reinforce your love through:
1) Great and continual conversations involving listening and talking
2) Being honest and fair to each other, in great times and bad
3) Creating lasting memories by doing small, but thoughtful things that will make your someone feel special
4) Being proactive by ensuring that your special someone is comfortable and safe in your relationship and that all areas of both of your lives are well-taken care of: these includes the spiritual, emotional and physical.
Taking your loved one for granted can have dangerous consequences, friends e.g. jealousy, anger, misunderstandings, cheating, fights, that all make for a troubled relationship and/or home.
So you've got to cherish that person that you're smiling with right now.
Great relationships take work - rewarding work, if both persons truly understand themselves, each other, God's plans for both your lives and what it takes to make relationships last for decades.
(If you're not sure, please ask older couples who've been married and committed for decades...most will gladly share their experiences, if asked humbly and respectfully).
May you always cherish your special someone...love is for a lifetime, but we can never be sure how long your lifetime will be. :)
Happy Valentine's Day!
