We wish our Chinese friends and those of Chinese heritage, a Happy New Year!
Yesterday began the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Water Dragon!
For those of us who are unfamiliar with the Chinese Zodiac/calendar, the Chinese Zodiac is based on a 12-year cycle, with each cycle being represented by an animal.
Please see this site which explains it all.
According to the Chinese Culture Centre of San Francisco's website, people born in this year (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 ) are said to be healthy, energetic, excitable, short-tempered, and stubborn.
They are also honest, sensitive, brave, and they inspire confidence and trust. Dragon people are the most eccentric of any in the eastern zodiac.
They neither borrow money nor make flowery speeches, but they tend to be soft-hearted which sometimes gives others an advantage over them.
They are compatible with Rats, Snakes, Monkeys, and Roosters."
The special thing about Water Dragon people is that these personalities occur every 60 years. (Water Dragon people were born in 1952 and 2012).
They have the characteristics of Dragon people with this special distinction:
According to USBridalGuide.com, "Water has a calming effect on the Dragon's fearless temperament. Water allows the Dragon to re-direct its enthusiasm, and makes him more perceptive of others.
These Dragons are better equipped to take a step back to re-evaluate a situation because they understand the art of patience and do not desire the spotlight like other Dragons.
Therefore, they make smart decisions and are able to see eye-to-eye with other people. However, their actions can go wrong if they do not research or if they do not finish one project before starting another".
