Portland, Jamaica, is one of the most beautiful places on earth!
Situated at the North-Eastern part of the island, Portland is the place to go to fall in love or to re-ignite the passion in your love-life...
As you enter the parish, there is so much beauty, greenery, and white sandy beaches, that the scenery literally takes your breath away!
Port Antonio is Portland's capital.
French Man's Cove, the beach pictured in this picture, is definitely a must-see.
It's a private beach and as such, there is an entrance fee of USD $4.40 for adults and USD $2.20 for children.
But it boasts a river and a beach, that gently flow into each other, as well as guest houses for those who want to enjoy the beach/river combo, for an extended period of time.
Other places of interest include The Blue Lagoon, Folly, the Portland Anglican Church, The Light House, Boston Beach, The Marina, Navy Island, The Castle and The Rio Grande (famous for its rafting tours).
If clean air, hiking, bike trails, bird-watching, sunbathing, swimming, boat rides, snorkeling, scuba diving, observation of exotic flora and fauna, Blue Mountain Coffee, Jerked pork, chicken and lobster are your thing, then Portland's the parish for you!
