Wow!..what a night...I tell you!
The audience in the Courtleigh Auditorium, at Mas Camp and at home were kept waiting, but it was well worth the wait....
The new Digicel Rising Stars 2008 winner is Cameal Davis!!!
Yipeee!!!
Girl With a Purpose (GWAP) Blog congratulates Cameal on her win - the first in the 5-year history of the competition, as it is the first time that a woman is winning this competition.
We also congratulate boy-group, Khalil, who performed admirably throughout this competition!!
Cameal hails from Denham Town, an inner city community in Kingston...and this young lady can sing!!!
Kahlil is also from an inner city community - Flankers in Montego Bay...and these guys are not only great singers, they are ok instrumentalists as well...(they play instruments, people!!!)
And this is one of the huge advantages of a competition like this one...ordinary young people, from all walks of life can compete and showcase their true talents to a Jamaican audience.

Cameal walks away with:

- JMD $100,000 worth of Digicel call credit

And the party continues at Mas Camp, Oxford Road...
I've just finished watching Goddy Goddy's performance and the performances of the Digicel Rising Stars finalists of former years and this year...and it's been good entertainment friends!

Please stay tuned for our super special post early next week...where we're going to be estimating how much money Digicel has made from the Jamaican Rising Stars competition for this year!
