(Please read our previous post, here, for a background to this post.)
Well friends, Jamaican Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, in an unprecedented move...put a spoke in the wheels of the hanging debate this afternoon.
He postponed the voting session, re hanging, in Gordon House, until next Tuesday.
(Gordon House is Jamaica's House of Parliament.)
He gave the following reasons for his decision:
- This was too important a decision for Parliamentarians to do hurriedly...he felt they needed a few extra days to ruminate over (think carefully about) the decision
- There was a high level of absenteeism in the House today.
Well, from new reports given, there was stunned silence when the Prime Minister (PM) made the announcement.
There were some Parliamentarians who were angry, some had their proverbial daggers drawn, as they wondered if the PM had dropped off an ackee tree and hit his head.
Some were clammering, "Let's go to the vote"..."let's go to the vote."

Hmmh...this is a very interesting turn of events...
Now, these are our elected representatives and the chief amongst them can't even make a decision...no wonder crime in Jamaica, is in the sad state that it is in...
Friends, do you know what I feel will happen?
There will be no decision made next Tuesday...some of our Parliamentarians don't seem to have the guts to be decisive re capital punishment.
They will put this vote to a referendum (where Jamaicans will publicly vote on the decision.)
=======
What a pity eh?
And what an absolute disgrace that this matter has been kicked about for over 20 years...because our elected representatives don't have the balls to say a definite "yes' or "no" re this decision.
...Can you imagine, a matter as important as this and you have absentee Parliamentary members?
What were they hoping to do?.. dodge the voting session, so they wouldn't be held accountable?
Hmmh!!??!!...Jamaicans are watching you, our elected representatives...we are watching you!
