(Please see our previous post, here, for a background to this post).
So, UEFA (the governing body of football in Europe) handed down its ruling on Friday, May 22...
It will be charging Chelsea players Didier Drogba and José Bosingwa da Silva (Bosingwa) for unruly conduct after the Chelsea-Barcelona (Barca) UEFA Champions League Semi-Final match on May 6,2009.
Drobga has been charged for berating the referee and his continued shouting in the referee's face just after the match ended. Bosingwa has been charged for comments he made on Portuguese TV. (He said that he couldn't distinguish between the referee and a thief)...
Chelsea did not escape unscathed...they were charged for not keeping their players in check following the match and for not reprimanding their fans who threw missiles unto the field, just after the match.
Bosignwa, Drogba and Chelsea have all issued public apologies.

Is it Fair That Only These Three Were Charged?
But is fair that only these three were charged?...what about referee - Tom Henning Ovrebo?
Does UEFA think that this man really exemplifies what refereeing is, at the top level?
Are they going to allow him to referee another Champions League match after his dismal refereeing decisions during the Chelsea-Barca semifinal?
I say he deserves to be demoted...He needs to gain the necessary experience at the minor leagues, before he can be promoted to refereeing a Champions League match in the future.
UEFA, if you continue to use this man to referee your games, you will be demonstrating to the clubs, your complete disrespect for them and you will be blamed when the major clubs boycott these Championships, as a result.
But I guess that until the top clubs put their feet down, you and other major league organizers, will never budge, huh?
Nuff said. (Jamaican meaning, enough has been said.)
(I would like to thank LordKhan for the use of his Flickr inset picture of Didier Drogba, above).
