Please read our previous post, here, for a background to this post.
The JADCO Disciplinary Panel has cleared the four (4) Jamaican male athletes whose 'A' and 'B' samples tested positive for a banned substance.
According to the Disciplinary Panel, the substance found was actually methylhexamine, which is not on the 2009 WADA list of banned substances.
However we understand that JADCO, as in Sheri-Ann Brooks' case, is appealing the decision of its own Disciplinary Panel.
The four Jamaican athletes have therefore not been cleared to participate in the Word Championships, that start on Saturday, in Berlin.
Now many Jamaicans are wondering how JADCO can be at logger-heads with its own Disciplinary Panel.
Kent Gammond, Head of the JADCO Disciplinary Panel explained that the Disciplinary Panel acts independently of JADCO. It must act of information that is before them...is cannot act on information that is not presented at the Hearings.
Sheri-Ann Brooks, the other athlete, whose 'A' and 'B' urine samples tested positive for a banned substance, is to face a Tribunal to determine if she is now fully in the clear to compete at the World Championships.
