Yes friends, Oral Tracey (comedic Sports Commentator on his programme, Sports Commentary), true to his word, really did tape up his mouth, for most of Sports Commentary, last night...man is he hilarious!
Bruce James - President of MVP Track Club, during Television Jamaica's coverage of the 2009 World Championships, today, said that he emailed the link to Asafa Powell, who also had a good laugh!
So this is good!

You know, the 2009 IAAF World Championships are causing good palpitations in my heart. :)
At 2:35 p.m., today, you could hear the hush...as occurred in the 100m (male) race yesterday, Jamaicans were expectant that something special would have happened in the female 100m.
Kingstonians gathered in Downtown Kingston stores and in Half-Way Tree and New Kingston, to witness the event live on big screen TVs in these areas.
The fact that Jamaica had four (4) women finishing in the finals of the 100m (female) event today, is a testament to our sporting prowess.
...But how the race was won, had us shouting for joy!!...
Shelly-Ann Fraser won with a Jamaica record and World Leading time of 10.73 secs. Kerron Stewart came in a close second at her Personal Best of 10.75 secs, Veronica Campbell-Brown came in 4th at 10.95 secs, just beaten by Carmelita Jeter of the USA, who came in 3rd at 10.90 secs.
Our stalwart, Aleen Bailey, finished 8th at 11.16 secs...this from a woman who just found out five (5) days ago that she would have to compete in the 100m.
I tell you, you could hear the shouts and people went crazy.
Unity returned to Jamaica, if even for a few minutes.
Our other women also did good today:
2008 Olympic Gold medalist - Melaine Walker, Nickiesha Wilson and Kaliese Spencer, all won their heats in the 400m hurdles, to qualify for the Semi-Finals which start tomorrow.
Kenia Sinclair unfortunately did not qualify for the 800m finals, as she came in 5th in her Semi-Final...
And Trecia Smith came in 5th in the finals of the Triple Jump.
=====
We expectantly await tomorrow...as Steve Mullings will be in Heat 3, Usain Bolt in Heat 5 and Ramone McKenzie in Heat 9 for the 200m (male).
Other heats which start tomorrow include the:
-
400m (male) with Ricardo Chambers in Heat 6.
-
100m (female) hurdles with Dellorene Ellis-London in Heat 1, Lacena Golding-Clarke in Heat 2 and Brigitte Foster-Hylton in Heat 5
The 400m (female) finals will also be run tomorrow and we are expecting great things from 2008 Olympic silver medalist-Shericka Williams and Novlene Williams-Mills.
We will also see if the veteran, Danny McFarlane, has any more tricks up his sleeves when he competes in the 400m (male) hurdles tomorrow.
As usual, GWAP Blog will keep you updated re the results for events involving Jamaicans.
