A State of Emergency has been declared for Kingston, Jamaica.
This is as gunmen from Tivoli Gardens and surrounding areas, have set the Hannah Town Police Station on fire and are firing at the Denham Town Police Station.
(The Hannah Town Police Station had been previously evacuated, however).
One (1) person has been injured in the gunfire at the Denham Town Police Station - the news media could not determine if that person was a civilian or a member of the Security Forces.
There is heavy gunfire in the immediate areas surrounding the Kingston Public Hospital.
There was an Emergency Cabinet Meeting this afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in response to the tense situation in Western Kingston.
As I passed through Half Way Tree, three (3) hours ago...one store had up hurricane shutters..in preparation for what might come.
