The Jamaica Defence Force has called its National Reserves - First Class, for duty at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow.
This is following events in Western Kingston for over the past eight (8) hours.
1) Criminals are reportedly holding law-abiding citizens against their will and seizing their cell-phones.
2) Some Tivoli Gardens residents say they are ready to fight for Mr. Coke with their own lives.
3) High barricades with barbed wire attached to high voltage JPS (power) lines are preventing both vehicular and pedestrian traffic from going into and out of the communities of Denham Town and Tivoli Gardens.
4) One police armoured personnel vehicle was shot-up.
5) Liquid Petroleum gas has been inserted into barricades.
6) The Ministry of Education has instructed High School children doing CSEC exams to do these exams outside of Western Kingston..
As such:
a) Tivoli Gardens High will have their exams at St. Hughes High School
b) Kingston High and Denham Town High will have their exams at Wolmer's Boys & Girls Schools.
c) Charlie Smith & Trench Town High will have their exams at the Overseas Examination Commisison on Manhattan Road off of Marescaux Road.
...All these students are being asked to report at these new locations by 8:15 a.m., tomorrow.
The Examination Officials have said that students in the affected areas may have to be escorted to and from exam centres, depending on the situation in their communities.
