Please read our previous post, here, as it provides a background to the following.
According to renown Jamaican attorney, Bert Samuels, Mr. Coke will next appear before a Magistrate who will read him his rights...his right to contest or waive his right to an extradition hearing in Jamaica.
More will be known as to Mr. Coke's decision over the next few days.
Meanwhile, there is a Public Advisory out by the Jamaican Constabulary Force...they are requesting that the Rev. Al Miller turn himself in to the nearest police station, accompanied by his lawyer, as he, Rev. Miller, is a major person of interest in a matter they're investigating.
===========
In a press conference held by the Jamaica Constabulary Force at 6:15 p.m. today, the Police Commissioner said he asked all senior members of the Force if any gave permission for Coke to circumvent Jamaica's legal system and be turned over to US Marshals.
They all said no.
=================It is being reported that Coke has been transported to a secure facility in Kingston where he's to stay until his hearing, which the police say will take place within 48 hours.
However, according to Bert Samuels, the Magistrate can go to Coke...if there is a concern for national security where transporting him to Court and him appearing in Court, are concerned.
The Minister of National Security says that Coke giving himself in, will spare the nation unnecessary tension that would result from his court hearing being held in Jamaica.
Dr. Trevor Monroe, Head of the Integrity Commission says its up to the Police High Command to ensure that Mr. Coke is not injured whilst in custody.
(Mr. Coke's father, "Jim Brown", died in transit to being extradited to the US, when he died whilst being detained in the General Penitentiary Prison in Kingston, Jamaica).
It is said that Dudus is afraid that the same fate will befall him, whilst in custody).
The Police have asked Mr. Coke's family, friends and those loyal to him, to remain calm.
They have also issued an increased alert for all members of the security forces as they say that they've received intelligence that both the security forces and their physical assets will be attacked by criminals being detained and those loyal to said criminals.
