Yes friends, Jermaine Gonzales (who had the second-fastest time in the men's 400m this year), arrived in crutches at the Norman Manley International Airport, today, after undergoing minor knee surgery in Germany.
When interviewed by CVM Television and Television Jamaica, he said that he was happy:
1) With his performance this season
2) To break the Jamaican record in the men's 400m
3) To have placed first and second in all his races.
He said that:
1) He's looking forward to resting his knee until he begins training for next year's World Championships.
2) The knee surgery is something he had planned to do at the end of the season.
Well, we know that Jermaine has been plagued with injury throughout his career as an athlete.
GWAP Blog is happy to see him doing so well, this season.
We wish him a speedy recovery and a great season next year!
(I would like to thank az1172 for the use of his Flickr inset picture of Jermaine Gonzales).
