The following is an update re court proceedings involving Jamaicans: Bounty Killer (Killa), Al Miller and Buju Banton:
Bounty Killer(Killa)
Well, senior Resident Magistrate, Judith Pusey, showed Bounty Killer (Killa) that she was "the one"...when she denied him bail, yesterday.
(Bounty Killer's infamous phrase "I are the one" was coined by him some years ago...in response to an ongoing feud with another dancehall artist - Beanie Man).
Bounty Killer was arrested on Saturday for assaulting his girlfriend.
Even though Bounty's lawyer claimed that Bounty's girlfriend's report of the incident, differed substantially from the doctor's report, judge, Judith Pusey, told Bounty that it would be prudent for her to deny him bail, since he had previously appeared before her on assault charges.
Al Miller
When the Reverend Al Miller appeared in court, today, to answer to charges of harbouring a fugitive, his case was postponed to October 14 .
Rev. Miller's defence lawyer insists that Rev. Miller was carrying Christopher "Dudus" Coke to turn himself in to the US authorities, whilst the prosecutors say that no such meeting was scheduled.
Prosecutors are yet to receive transcripts of recorded conversations on Rev Miller's cell phone...hence the reason for the postponement of his trial.
Buju Banton
The 13-man jury is still deliberating in the case involving international Reggae artiste Mark Myrie, aka Buju Banton.
They are expected to continue deliberations at 8:30 a.m, tomorrow.
In December of last year, Buju Banton was arrested on drug trafficking charges and placed in various Florida prisons.
His trial began on Monday in the Federal District Court in Florida.
The jury includes seven (7) women and two (2) African Americans...one of which fell ill and was not able to continue as a juror...leaving 13 jurors.
