Jamaican International Reggae artiste, Buju Banton, was released on bail (finally able to take up bail) today...hurrah!
Not too sure that his bank account will be saying hurrah after all those legal fees and security feesare deducted, but it's a small victory for Buju.
His lawyer, David Markus says that Buju no longer has to face immigration court for remaining in the US on bail.
Kudos to Mr. Markus for getting him this far!!!
In the meantime, two infamous Jamaican Dancehall artistes: Adijah Palmer (Vybz Kartel) and David Brooks (Mavado) were listed as persons of interest by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (the Jamaican police), yesterday.
They were asked to turn themselves in by 5:00 p.m., today.
They are wanted in connection to the shooting death of two men along Mannings Hill Road in St. Andrew, on Monday.
Both turned themselves in today, accompanied by their lawyers.
(This is the second time this year that Vybz Kartel has been listed as a person of interest by the Jamaican police).
(I would like to thank h.nassentein for the use of his Flickr inset photo of Buju Banton in concert).
