The Language Every 21st Century Child Should Know

If your child was born in the year 2000 or beyond, he/she should be learning to speak Mandarin.

 

With the current world dominance of the Chinese economy and China's strategic outlook of hundreds of years, your child will be at a severe disadvantage, if he/she does not learn Mandarin - a language spoken by over 850 million Chinese.

 

(Thus making it the most-spoken language on earth).

 

President Obama's 9-year-old daughter, Sasha, got to practice the Chinese she learned in school, with Chinese president, Hu Jintao, when he visited the USA some  days ago.

 

We need to take a page out of his book and ensure that our children are equipped with this very important second language, so as to ensure that they have a fighting chance of working and doing business in this new century, that will be dominated by China and other leading Asian economies. :)

Moving Just Became Easier, With U-Pack!

Let's face it, moving can be a hassle.

 

From the search time needed to select a mover, to the actual packing and moving of your personal items into storage or into a moving van and then unpacking...

 

...Moving can be very stressful indeed!

 

Well, there's a US-based company called U-Pack Moving (upack), that promises to eliminate all your moving worries.

 

Two (2) of their moving services that make the moving process easy, are their:

 

1) Trailer service where they deliver a 28' x 8'6" x 9'(Length,Width, Height) trailer to your home when you're ready to move. You pack your items in and secure them (they show you how) and then a seasoned driver  moves the trailer to your destination, and retrieves the trailer after you've unpacked.

 

2) If you're unable to get secure and legal parking for the trailer, you can use their Move in a Relocube service . The Relocube (shown in the inset picture) is a portable storage container, whose weatherproof design is made of steel or aluminum.

 

U-Pack moves the Relocube to your home where you have three (3) days in which to load it up.

 

They then move the Relocube to an ABF Service Centre (a secure location where they store many other Relocubes), near to your home or destination.

 

You can then choose to have the Relocube moved to your destination whenever you are ready to unload it.

 

(They will remove it when you're done unpacking).

 

This is very convenient, should you not be able to move all items into your new home immediately. You pay a small fee for every 30-day period that you have to use the Relocube to store your personal belongings.

 

The above services are just a few of the many, that U-Pack offers, that enable you to have a stress-free move.

Schools' Challenge Quiz 2011: The Queens Steal the Day!

Well, the Queen's High School got promoted to Round 2 of this evening's Schools' Challenge Quiz competition, in a very satisfying fashion:

[Schools' Challenge Quiz is an annual competition put on by Television Jamaica (TVJ - one of Jamaica's three free-to-air television stations), whereby high school students compete in a 3-round quiz competition for cash and prizes and the title of "Schools Challenge Quiz Champion".

 

High School students are quizzed on subjects studied at the 4th and 5th form level in high schools across the island...namely Math, Information Technology, English Language, English Literature and the Sciences].

The "Queens" asserted their dominance over St. Catherine High, who had no answer for the uptown girls' high school.

(Queens High gained 31 points to St. Catherine High's 11 points).

Our heartiest congratulations go out to the Queen's High School and we say to St. Catherine High, we are expecting great things of you next year!

Unfortunately for St. Catherine High, however, they are now out of the competition.
