A big Girl With a Purpose (GWAP) Blog congratulations go out to Kingston College (KC) who won the Grand Finals of this year's Schools' Challenge Quiz!
They beat Titchfield High 33 to 11 points.
[Schools' Challenge Quiz is an annual competition put on by Television Jamaica (TVJ - one of Jamaica's three free-to-air television stations), whereby high school students compete in a 3-round quiz competition for cash and prizes and the title of "Schools Challenge Quiz Champion".
High School students are quizzed on subjects studied at the 4th and 5th form level in high schools across the island...namely Math, Information Technology, English Language, English Literature and the Sciences].
KC have now won this competition for a whopping ten (10) times!
We say to Titchfield High, well tried!
...You were pounded tonight, but please learn from this experience...
We are anxious to see you victorious for many years to come!
At the end of the match, Gary Allen, Managing Director of the RJR Communications Group presented the Runner-up Trophy to Titchfield High and the Winner's Trophy to Kingston College...who got a jubilant ovation from the television audience, who shouted "Fortis", several times.
(Fortis is the shortened version of KC's motto "Fortis Cadere Cedere Non Protest", Latin for "The Brave May Fall But Never Yield").
Congrats once again, to KC!
