Today, the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) announced the resignation of Minister James Robertson from the Cabinet.
(He was the Minister of Mining and Energy).
This follows the revocation of his visa and that of his wife, by the US Embassy, here in Jamaica on Friday.
Political pundits do expect Prime Minister Bruce Golding to reshuffle his Cabinet following this announcement.
However, Opposition Leader, Portia Simpson-Miller, beat him to it.
On the heels of the visa revocation announcement, she announced that she has reshuffled her Shadow Cabinet.
She will be taking on the responsibilities of Shadow Minister for Gender Affairs, Sports, Development and Information, whilst:
Dr. Peter Phillips - will have the Shadow Ministries of Finance, Planning and the Public Service
Dr. Omar Davies - will have Transportation and Works
Anthony Hilton - will have Industry, Trade & Commerce
Former back-bencher - Ronny Thwaites will have Education
Peter Bunting remains Shadow Minsiter of National Security
Fenton Ferguson remains Shadow Minister of Health
Roger Clarke remains Shadow Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries
Wickham McNeil remains Shadow Minister of Tourism
Mark Golding becomes Shadow Minister of Justice
Lisa Hanna becomes Shadow Minister of Youth and Culture
Bobby Pickersgill becomes Shadow Minister of Lands, Environment and Climate Change.
Interesting huh?
We await the JLP's response to the above.
