As promised in the first post in our series, "How to Choose Perfume That's Right for You (Part 1)", we now introduce you to a special category of fragrances that have been increasing in popularity.
These special scents claim to be able to help you attract that special someone in your life.
They are called pheromones.
What are Pheromones?
Pheromones are hormones secreted by the sex organs into the bloodstream, which are excreted by the body when humans or animals sweat.
They are then detected by the nose and illicit internal sexual response within the body.
Pheromones send a signal to the hypothalamus in the brain, to illicit emotions such as attraction, sexual desire, and arousal.
Types of Pheromones Produced by Men and Women
Men secrete the pheromone, androstenone that attract women and women secrete the pheromone, androstenol that attract men.
(Hence that strong male scent that women smell when around sweaty men).
Now, can these pheromones be manufactured so that when worn, illicit a sexual response from the person you're trying to attract?

Scientists claim that pheromones produced by men are especially beneficial to women, as they increase fertility and help stabilize the menstrual cycle.
They further claim that in a study of women who wore pheromones, that 74% of those studied, experienced increases in hugging, kissing, and sexual intercourse.
These pheromones can be produced in a lab and placed in fragrances, so that when dabbed on the inside of the neck, behind the ears, on the front and back of the body, or on your clothes, increase the opposite sex's attraction to you.
