Here in Jamaica, we're watching Tropical Storm Sandy, which should develop into either a Category 1 or 2 hurricane by the time it hits us, early Wednesday morning.
We are currently under a hurricane watch as the storm nears the island.
(According to the Meteorological Service of Jamaica, the centre of Tropical Storm Sandy was located 270 miles South South West of Jamaica and is moving North North East at 5 mph.
Maximum sustained winds are at 50 mph and strengthening is expected over the next 32 hours).
Schools closed half-day, today and will be closed tomorrow.
Some persons have started to batten down.
The Meteorological Service of Jamaica will be issuing another bulletin at 5:00 p.m., today.
Unlike the song in the above video suggests...we weren't born to be wasted..and we continue to pray that this lovely island of ours, will be spared from the ravages of this storm/hurricane.
