We're certainly not gloating...how could we?

 

But we're happy to report that Girl With a Purpose (GWAP) Blog scored a 5/8 (yeah, yeah, we know we just barely passed :)), for the predictions of winners for last Saturday's JN Invitational International Meet held in Kingston, Jamaica.

2. Kelly-Ann Baptise -2nd  (prediction came true!)

 

Women's 200m

1. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce - 1st  (we missed this one: Shelly-Ann came 2nd to Bianca Knight)
2. Kerron Stewart - 2nd  (we missed this one: Kerron came 3rd)

 

Women's 400m hurdles

1. Melanie Walker - 1st (prediction came true!)

 

Yep, so we're doing our celebratory jig in celebration of these athletes who've committed themselves to performing at the top of their game.

 

Congrats to all you athletes who turned up on the day and performed!

 

We're dedicating Tina Turner's, no.1 song, Simply the Best, to you!

 

 

(Oh, by the way, friends, former world 100m record-holder, Asafa Powell's, groin injury has subsided...he will be performing at the IAAF Diamond League Meet in Doha, Qatar, tomorrow.

The 2012 staging of the JN International Invitational is still in full swing at the National Stadium in Jamaica.

Predictions: JN International Invitational Meet, this Saturday

As renown Jamaican sports commentator, Oral Tracey, predicted three (3) nights ago, former 100m record-holder, Asafa Powell, will find some excuse not run against Yohan Blake in Saturday's Jamaica National (JN) International Invitational Meet.

 

(The JN International Invitational Meet is an annual Track & Field event on the IAAF calendar, featuring top Jamaican and international stars  battling it out on the track, at Jamaica's National Stadium.

 

Yohan Blake is the 2011 100m World Champion).

 

Asafa Powell apparently will not run, due to him having  a groin injury.

 

He has been plagued with the misfortune of not being able to win  an individual, major Olympic or World Track & Field title, which many feel is due to his insufficient mental preparation for these big events.

 

Big names from Jamaica expected to compete, include: Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Kerron Stewart and Melanie Walker.

 

Big names from the USA and the Caribbean expected to compete, include: Carmelita Jeter (USA), Kelly-Ann Baptiste (Trinidad), Richard Thompson (Trinidad) and Darvis Patton(USA).
