Junior Schools' Challenge Quiz 2011: Knox Junior School Knocks Servite Primary

This evening's Junior Schools' Challenge Quiz was quite a treat!

 

In a titillating match, we saw Knox Junior School serve  up some "hard knocks" to Servite Primary, by beating them 45 to 31 points.

 

(Junior Schools' Challenge Quiz is a Television Jamaica (TVJ) production and features tens of schools at the Primary Level of our educational system who compete against each other in six (6) rounds of competition: Rounds 1-3 , a Quarter-Final, a Semi-Final and a Final.

 

They answer questions in the following subject areas: Bible Knowledge, Math, Music, Science, English Language and Social Studies.

 

...With each match having:

 

1) Four (4) face-offs; each between two students of the competing schools in the above subject areas

 

2) A final buzzer segment, where both teams answer questions within a 3-minute time slot).

 

A big GWAP Blog Congratulations go out to Knox Junior School, who now move on to round 3 of the competition.

 

And to Servite Primary,we say, "Well tried!" .

Prime Minister Bruce Golding to Address Nation on Sunday

Jamaican Prime Minister (PM), Bruce Golding, is to address the nation on Sunday, explaining the reasons for his pending resignation.

 

(The PM is to resign on November 19, paving the way for a new Jamaica Labour Party Leader and hence PM).

 

The public broadcast should be on major television (e.g. TelevisionJamaica.com) and radio stations (e.g. Power106FM.com), starting at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2.

 

We will endeavour to bring you highlights of his speech.

Television Jamaica (TVJ) Junior Schools' Challenge Quiz Competition is in its 10th match for the 2011 Season.

 

Viewers were treated to a great match this evening, between Christiana Moravian  Primary and Meadowbrook Prep, where Christiana Moravian Primary  defeated Meadowbrook Prep 33 to 27 points.

At the end of Faceoff #4 in today's match, Christiana Moravian was at 21 points to Meadowbrook Prep's 20 points.

 

Christiana Moravian Primary's tenacity saw them through to win the buzzer segment.

 

We say a big GWAP Congratulations to Christiana Moravian, who now progress to Round 2 of the competition...

 

...and to Meadowbrook Prep - we say, well tried! :)
